Eriata Oribhabor is a creative poet, a renowned promoter of Naija Languej, writer and editor who is passionate about positive change for his country Nigeria and encourages young writers to develop their potentials towards achieving their dreams. He was born and raised in Warri-Nigeria on the 19th of April 1963.
He is the author of “Beautiful Poisons”, “Crossroads & The Rubicon”, “Abuja na kpangba an Oda Puem-dem” (Naija languej puem), Editor; “Amebo Yad and Oda Ple – Dem (Anthology of plays written in Naija languej), Editor; If Yu Hie Se A De Prizin (anthology of poems written in Naija languej) and Editor; Who Shall I Make My Wife?
Eriata is the founder of Something for Everybody Ventures (OL FO NAIJA); a tourism promotion and development outfit inclined to achieving its goals/visions of human/societal uplift via literature and the arts. The coordinator, Poets in Nigeria Initiative, he owns www.poetsinigeria.com, the official website of Something for Everybody Ventures aimed at connecting poets of different callings in Nigeria and the diaspora whilst promoting them and their works.
He is a former Chairman of Association of Nigerian Authors Abuja Chapter, the brain behind the ERIATA ORIBHABOR POETRY PRIZE (EOPP). He championed the maiden edition of the Abuja’s version of the 100 Thousand Poets for Change event; a global non-governmental literary organization promoting poetry as a tool for” seizing and redirecting the political and social dialogue of the day,” hoping to turn” the narrative of civilization towards peace and its sustainability” for societal uplift.
He loves travelling and supporting young people. For his love and support for poetry he won the Poetry promoter of the year at the Nigerian Writers Awards 2015 (Judges Choice and Readers Votes).
